Requirements

GED or diploma (trade school = bonus)
Experience running machines or working in production/warehouse
Mechanical smarts - you know your way around tools and gauges
Sharp eye for detail to keep quality tight
Strength and stamina - lift up to 50 lbs. and stay on your feet
Team player who shows up, works safely, and gets it done
Must be open to all shifts and pay union dues (within the first 90 days).

Responsibilities

Operate all CNC equipment, including mills and lathes
Set up and operate equipment per job requirements using the following: blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, and locations of surfaces.
Configures CNC by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and programs.
Changes tool inserts as required to maintain part specifications and monitor tool usage and wear.
Must have a good working knowledge of M&G codes
Ability to enter work orders into the maintenance system.
Loads the machine with work pieces and verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
Maintains specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; editing programs; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Accomplishes organization goals by offering improvement opportunities.
Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality
Works with other CNC associates to troubleshoot, set up, and machine new products
