About The Position

Job Description: Level 1/2: Operate CNC Lathe / Mill with supervisory assistance. Follow supervisor lead verbal directions, able to use basic measuring tools to check and verify that completed operations meet drawing dimensions. Level 3/4: Independently setup and operate Mill Turn, CNC Mill and CNC Lathes (Swiss turns will be an advantage) with minimal occasional assistance. Follow supervisor or lead verbal directions. Competent in completing set ups (including 4th axis operations). Able to adjust feed and speed to meet surface finish requirements, adjust tool offsets and/or CDC compensation in order to meet drawing requirements of +/-.0005. Able to inspect first piece article, read and understand programs, and execute in-process inspection. Competent in removing worn cutting tools, re-grinding to conform to drawing requirements, and replacing. For internal candidates, a minimum 12 months experience as a Level 2 Operator is required with consistent improvement in performance, and demonstrated proficiency in operating all lathes and mills currently in-house with a good understanding of CCS parts run on those machines.

Requirements

  • Due to need to maintain ITAR compliance, applicants must be U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  • Knowledge of CNC lathe / mill machining including set-ups as required; Level 3/4 will additionally need knowledge of Mill Turn and Swiss machines, and to understand machining process automation.
  • Adequate manual dexterity to safely and proficiently perform pre-setups or set-ups of certain job operations on CNC lathes / mills.
  • Level 3/4 will need to have or obtain during probation first piece inspection stamp.
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to work with a number sequence.
  • Ability to work well with only a modest number of repeated instructions.
  • Be team oriented and possess flexibility and adaptability
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to do repetitive motion, arms, wrists, elbows and shoulders
  • Trade school certification or 2 years direct experience (Level 1/2)
  • Trade school certification in Mill Turn and Swiss machining with 2 years direct experience or 4 years direct experience with Mill Turn/Swiss/CNC Lathes and CNC Mills (Level 3/4)
