Summary Responsible for, but not limited to setting-up/operating assigned machinery. The Set-up machinist ensures that the machine runs smoothly and is appropriately maintained. The essential role of a Set-up machinist is to set up production machines following prints and specifications and to inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Use drawings (blueprint), specs and instructions to operate CNC Machinery. Document processes pertaining to running and/or improvements made to set up or operate assigned machines. Sustain a safe, efficient, and clean work environment. Responsible for the general maintenance and clean-up of the shop. Troubleshoot and resolve problems involving tooling, materials, programs, equipment, and part specifications. Identify and recommend changes to part specifications to improve machine ability. Perform other job-related duties.
