About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is seeking a CNA/Nurse Apprentice/Nursing Assistant for its Mother/Baby Unit, located at their Level II Trauma Center. This part-time position involves a 12-hour night shift. The role primarily supports clinical staff by handling clerical, receptionist, and patient service coordination tasks. Additionally, the individual will perform various nursing care services and non-professional duties to meet patients' personal needs and comfort, always under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate documentation of services and supplies for revenue management, providing high-quality support to Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIPs) in patient care, and fostering excellent customer service through clear communication with patients and families. The role also requires handling non-controlled medications by receiving them from delivery points and securely transferring them to an RN or a designated secure location.

Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho OR maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing or complete the Trinity Health Nursing Assistant Program required
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).

Nice To Haves

  • Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination.
  • Perform various nursing care services and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients, as those of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) under the direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.
  • Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients (Revenue Management).
  • Provide direct high quality service to Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) to assist in patient care activities.
  • Facilitate high quality customer service, communicating clearly with patients and families.
  • Remove non controlled medications from deliver points (such as tube stations) and hands directly to RN or places in secure location.
