About The Position

The mission of Freeman Health System is to improve the health of the communities they serve through contemporary, innovative, quality healthcare solutions. This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which is the only Level III, 24-bed unit of its kind in the four-state area, providing specialized care using state-of-the-art technology and years of experience treating premature and critically ill infants. The NICU is equipped to handle critically ill or premature babies and is staffed by board-certified neonatologists. It utilizes pod nursing for efficiency, patient supervision, and infection control. The unit also features the Angel Eye NICU Camera System, a secure web-based camera system allowing parents 24-hour remote access to their child via a live feed. In this role, the RN will independently perform systematic and continuous assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families, plan and implement appropriate interventions, and evaluate effectiveness and adjust the plan as indicated in a timely manner in the provision of safe and effective care, all in conjunction with the medical plan of care.

Requirements

  • Current Missouri Registered Nurse License Or Current Registered Nurse License From A Compact State. If A Compact License Is Held, It Must Be In The Nurse's State Of Residence.
  • If No Experience As An RN Or LPN In A Hospital Setting Or It Has Been More Than 5 Years Since Last Worked In A Hospital Setting, Nurses Must Successfully Pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) Within 30 Days.
  • AHA ACLS Within 365 Days.
  • AHA BLS For Healthcare Providers Within 30 Days.
  • Maternal/Child Competency Day Annually By Transcript Due Date.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Within 90 Days.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Learner Within 365 Days.

Responsibilities
