Were just built to be better. We are a great company. We are seeking a CMT Special Inspector 3 to join our Portland, OR team! Come join us! Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform field materials testing on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and the specified procedures. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. Perform occasional laboratory tests on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete when required to support project objectives. Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings, and follow operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results. Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness of results required. Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of test data. Work collaboratively with managers and other staff to ensure safety protocols are followed. Clean, calibrate, maintain, and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. Maintains equipment in good working order and adheres to related calibration and storage. Completes other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required, associate's degree preferred, No Bachelors required.
  • 10-year minimum experience required.
  • Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Software: Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Familiarity with Construction practices and Materials testing.
  • Technical requirements: Driver's license upon hire required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred ICC certification in five or more of the following categories: Reinforced Concrete, Spray-applied Fireproofing, Structural Masonry, Prestressed/Post Tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel Bolting, Structural Steel Welding.
  • Certified ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I, and Radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge Preferred.
  • ODOT and or WAQC certifications preferred.
  • CWI certifications preferred.
  • NACE certifications preferred.
  • Other national, regional, state, and local Materials related certifications.
