About The Position

The CMM Programmer/Quality Assurance is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing inspection programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure manufactured parts meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role involves interpreting complex technical drawings/blueprints, developing automated measurement routines (often using CAD data), troubleshooting, and performing in-process/final inspections. Requirements

Experience in machining, engineering, or quality assurance preferred
Strong communication skills & exceptional attention to detail
Program CMM setup & operation including calibration (Hexagon - PC DMIS)
Skilled in troubleshooting and proactively solving problems

Responsibilities

Develop, debug, and optimize complex CMM programs using CAD models and blueprints (e.g. PC-DMIS, Calypso, and Polyworks) to measure 2D and 3D dimensions.
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections to verify part conformance.
Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y145.5 standards to define measurement strategies.
Analyze measurement data, perform root cause analysis for non-conforming parts, and collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturing processes.
Calibrate and maintain CMM machines and probe libraries to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain record in compliance with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 901, AS9100).
