About The Position

The Iowa Clinic is seeking a CMA/LPN/RN for their North Waukee Family Medicine location. The clinic is locally owned and physician-led, with all decisions made in Central Iowa. The role offers an opportunity to make a difference by providing exceptional, compassionate, and collaborative patient care. This position will be supporting Dr. Smith, starting in June 2026. A typical day involves arriving in the morning (no night shifts), providing professional nursing services to patients of assigned physicians and APPs, following established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures. Working hours are 7:30am–5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesdays off. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments of patient care needs, rooming patients and taking vitals, assisting providers with patient triage, identifying nursing diagnoses or problem lists, and formulating initial plans of care. The role emphasizes spending quality time with patients, participating in team activities, engaging in volunteer opportunities, and returning patient calls to ensure they feel valued. The work day concludes in the evening, adhering to standard clinic hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing services for patients of assigned physicians and APP, following established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs
  • Room patients and take vitals
  • Assists provider(s) with patient triage, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data
  • Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them
