About The Position
This position is for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) specializing in Diabetes and Endocrinology, located in Harrisonburg. The CMA will perform and document assigned duties under the direction and supervision of a physician, adhering to the medical model of care as provided by the State Board of Nursing. The role involves initiating process implementations and requires access to all operational components of the office, including the physician’s office, medical records, medical supplies, and locked drug closets/refrigerators, as needed for daily operations. Augusta Health is an independent, nonprofit, community health system in Fishersville, Virginia, offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including Augusta Medical Center (a 255-bed facility) and Augusta Medical Group (comprising 45 practice locations and 4 urgent care locations).
Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
- Certification or registration thru Medical Assistant Association
- CPR certified
- Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of a fast-paced physician practice
- 1 year of experience

- Previous physician office experience preferred
