About The Position

The Cloud/Network Engineer will be responsible for network operations, administration, and engineering tasks, participating in the ongoing support for on-premise network systems using current and emerging technologies, and supporting the Cloud environment. This role involves maintaining overall network health and executing network tasks based on business objectives. The engineer will also be responsible for the administration, documentation, and security of network equipment. Key aspects include working with teams and customers to understand cloud networking requirements, developing and documenting Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs), creating network designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continually improving cloud network services. The position also involves evaluating and recommending potential cloud networking solutions, participating in the procurement of network devices, and providing technical support for the installation and deployment of new technologies, including hardware, software, network communications, and security products.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in Information Technology, supporting complex systems and delivering reliable technical solutions across diverse environments.
  • Skilled in deploying and managing cloud-based network services and monitoring tools, with a focus on performance optimization, security, and scalability.
  • Active IAT II (Security+) Certification.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Minimum of 10 years with AA; Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
  • Four years of additional experience can be accepted in lieu of a BA/BS degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with transitioning from IPv4 to IPv6.
  • Experience with Cisco, Azure, and AWS.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio.
  • Certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft Azure, AWS certifications).
  • Degree in one of the following fields highly desired: Information Technology, Software Engineer, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform network operations, administration and engineering tasks.
  • Participate in the ongoing support for on-premise network systems using current and emerging technologies along with supporting the Cloud environment.
  • Maintain overall network health and carry out network tasks based on business objectives.
  • Administer, document, and secure network equipment.
  • Work with teams and customers to understand cloud networking requirements for upcoming projects.
  • Develop and document Wide Area Networks (WANs) / Local Area Networks (LANs).
  • Create network designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of cloud network services.
  • Evaluate and recommend potential cloud networking solutions for inclusion into customer cloud service offerings and application migration solutions.
  • Participate in the procurement of network devices.
  • Provide technical support to install and deploy new technologies as they are adopted, including hardware, software, network communications hardware and software, security products, and other information technology products or services required to support the operations and maintenance environment.
