About The Position

PURPOSE: Ensures that all customers receive fast, friendly, accurate checkout service by passionately implementing the spirit of customer first, second to none. Manages and schedules duties of Front End Clerks, Courtesy Clerks, and Customer Service Clerks.

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot PCs and check stand equipment.
  • Ability to maintain mental alertness for safe and accurate work.
  • Ability to supervise and enforce standards effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customers receive fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service.
  • Manage and schedule Front End Clerks, Courtesy Clerks, and Customer Service Clerks.
  • Handle customer relations and resolve customer complaints.
  • Perform checking duties and supervisor functions; serve as overflow cashier when needed.
  • Supervise front-end activities including service levels, traffic flow, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Oversee cash-flow controls including tills, safe transactions, check approvals, and refunds.
  • Manage scan-system issues including UPC errors and system failures.
  • Maintain awareness of customer and employee safety.
  • Enforce employee dress and grooming standards.
  • Supervise employees in the absence or presence of the Store Manager.
  • Handle emergencies, complaints, and accidents per policy.
  • Support replenishment of out-of-stock items.
  • Conduct store walks, delegate tasks, and ensure completion.
  • Monitor in-stock conditions and replace product as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform basic cash-office functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
