About The Position

This position provides professional nursing care for office patients following established standards and procedures. Huntsville Hospital was recently recognized as Best Regional Hospital and #2 in Alabama by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital boasts 971 beds, a specialized Orthopedic & Spine Tower, a Level III Regional Neonatal ICU, and the largest Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center in the state, featuring its own specialized Red Shirt Trauma Program. It is also a certified Primary Stroke Center and named "One of the Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation with Great Heart Programs." The facility offers six cath labs, four EP labs, and multiple medical and step-down units, providing ample opportunities for skill development. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Possess a current Alabama State Registered Nurses License
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care
  • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions
  • Skill in writing and maintaining records and reports
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, employees, and staff
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions in order to maintain a safe working environment
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Upholds effective work habits including, but not limited to, regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness
