About The Position

Astor Services, a leading provider of behavioral and mental health services in the Hudson Valley and The Bronx, is dedicated to nurturing the emotional and mental well-being of children, adolescents, and families. Astor Services For Children & Families, a NYS-Licensed Article 31 outpatient mental health clinic, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to work in a fast-paced, educational, and challenging environment. This role offers an opportunity to learn and practice with a diverse population experiencing a variety of mental health diagnoses. Clinicians will receive ongoing training in evidence-based practice, clinical supervision, and opportunities for CEUs. Individuals of all levels of experience with a dedication to providing quality mental health services are encouraged to apply. The position involves joining a multidisciplinary team serving children, adolescents, and their families in the Hudson Valley, providing necessary support, psychoeducation, and clinical interventions to meet client needs and increase family engagement in treatment.

Requirements

  • MHC, LMHC, MSW, LMSW, LCSW, MFT, and LMFT.
  • Social Work experience.

Responsibilities

  • The clinician explores client’s understanding of their problem; assists in clarifying the current impact of the problem for client, family and referral source if applicable.
  • The clinician demonstrates understanding and competency in mental health diagnoses and use of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
  • The clinician understands and employs the mental status exam as an initial and ongoing tool for treatment.
  • The clinician demonstrates ability to assess and follow protocol for High Risk clients.
  • The clinician collaborates and participates in multi-disciplinary team to provide and receive support.
  • The clinician consults with collateral contacts, community agencies and resources to ensure comprehensive treatment and support for client and their family.
  • The clinician demonstrates willingness to provide feedback when asked about quality of services, and maintains consistent communication with collaborating providers in order to provide best quality of services to meet the client’s needs.
  • The clinician incorporates treatment for clients and families with co-occurring disorders.
  • The clinician shows willingness adapting to changing policies, protocols and clinical documentation.
  • The clinician represents the agency in a professional and positive manner while promoting core values of the agency.
