NRVCS is actively seeking difference-makers to enhance our 23-Hour Crisis Team. Clinicians working in the 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization Center come alongside individuals experiencing crisis as a result of a mental health or substance abuse-related diagnosis. Clinical skills are leveraged to provide crisis intervention, assessment, and stabilization. To assist individuals in returning to their baseline functioning, clinicians identify needed resources, appropriate discharge setting, and level of imminent risk. Crisis Center Clinicians are invaluable members of the wellness and recovery team. To take advantage of the opportunity to assist individuals from all backgrounds during one of the most difficult periods of their life, the following requirements must be met: Knowledge of assessment, crisis intervention and service plan development for individuals with Mental Illness, Substance Use Disorders, Developmental Disabilities and Co-Occurring Disorders. Ability to recognize symptoms of early escalation and respond appropriately with Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention techniques. Thorough knowledge of DSM-V, etiology, symptoms, treatments, prognoses. Knowledge of agency, local, state, and federal regulations, and standards for clinical services, and related human rights, ethical, cultural, diversity, inclusion and legal concerns. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, planning and communication skills. Demonstrates initiative, is resourceful, and has the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have an acceptable criminal history and child protective services check, and be able to pass a urine drug screen, and possess a valid driver's license (state of Virginia, unless otherwise approved by agency) with an acceptable driving record.
