The Division of Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks board certified/eligible applicants with substantial clinical expertise in pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation to join the Division as Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator line. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative leadership and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We are particularly interested in candidates with extensive experience managing medically complex pediatric stem cell transplant patients, including pre-transplant evaluation, peri-transplant care, and long-term post-transplant management, within a large, high-volume transplant program. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in bringing patients safely and effectively to transplant and contributing to multidisciplinary care in a fast-paced, academically rigorous clinical environment. We seek individuals with clinical expertise spanning both malignant and non-malignant disorders, and with experience in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, including alternative donor transplantation platforms. Our program is also deeply engaged in gene therapy and gene-modified cellular therapies, with a strong emphasis on early-phase and first-in-human (FIH) clinical trials. The ideal candidate will also have a strong interest in, and experience with, clinical research in pediatric stem cell transplantation, including the design, conduct, and leadership of clinical trials. Experience participating in or leading multi-institutional clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, and collaborative research efforts is highly desirable. Interest and experience in correlative science, immune monitoring, and biomarker-driven clinical investigation across malignant and non-malignant indications are strongly encouraged. Excellent opportunities exist for clinical research leadership and clinical program development within a rapidly expanding pediatric stem cell transplantation and regenerative medicine program. This recruitment supports an ongoing initiative in the Department of Pediatrics to expand the Division’s growing clinical, translational, and first-in-human research portfolio in pediatric stem cell transplantation and gene therapy.
