About The Position

The Clinician Educator provides guidance and supervision to clinical staff through consultation, support, and training. The Clinician Educator instructs, trains, and provides consult to clinicians to help build the team’s clinical skills and practice. While allotment of time may vary based on clinical service line, approximately 75% of time will be dedicated to the clinical services line and 25% of time to the Training and Professional Development Department. This role promotes integrated care and whole person health, encouraging linkages between programs and community resources. The Clinician Educator fosters collaborative relationships and teamwork within the service line, the organization and through community partner trainings and education to provide the best client experience. The Clinician Educator is a positive team player that promotes a culture of inclusion and participation.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, Psychology or Social Work
  • Independent licensure as recognized by KY licensing boards and billing requirements
  • State licensure required to provide clinical supervision in discipline
  • Valid driver's license, reliable operating transportation, and proof of current auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Lead change by painting a picture of the future that inspires others, helping people overcome obstacles, stimulating others to think of old problems in new ways with a whole health wellness lens that considers an individual’s behavioral health, physical health and social determinant needs
  • Offer clinical ideas, solutions and clinician mentorship helping to build technical competence and knowledge of internal and external resources while communicating effectively with staff and supervisors
  • Create opportunities to broaden service lines by cross training and collaborating with Clinician Educators and leaders in different service lines to strengthen understanding of New Vista’s robust services while fostering connections to the larger organization
  • Foster a collaborative approach among the team and across service lines to provide the best care and create a seamless experience for each client
  • Assist in caseload management for clinicians to maximize opportunities to balance productivity, positive outcomes, and holistic care
  • Maintain a case load and serve as billing and clinical supervisor to support the clinical service line
  • Provide clinical consultation and guidance to staff utilizing an integrated care lens
  • Wherever applicable, ensure PCOMS is being utilized, monitor staff proficiency in PCOMS, ensure that PCOMS is adequately supervised and that clinical decisions are consistently made using PCOMS data and client feedback
  • Wherever applicable, monitor the quality of clinical interventions using PCOMS and PCOMS supervision for each clinician with minimal errors for validity and completeness of therapeutic goals
  • Works collaboratively with management to ensure that the provision of services meets medical necessity, standard of care and that clinical documentation practices meets New Vista standards and policies
  • In conjunction with management directives facilitate clinical staffing according to New Vista policy
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals to other services such as psychiatric care, case management, IDD services, or residential services
  • Provide clinical supervision when appropriate to assist in managing clients with complex diagnostic profiles, emergency and/or behavioral health crises, and clients identified as high risk with few mitigating or protective factors
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinician Educator Team and Training and Professional Development Manager to develop and provide trainings to the organization
  • Obtain recommended train the trainer certificates to strengthen trainings provided in house
  • Develop and continue to update trainings to reflect best practices and integrated care
  • Represent New Vista in the community to serve as an ambassador and trainer, furthering knowledge of behavioral health, wellness, and New Vista service offerings
  • Participate in development of organizational clinical policies and procedures
