About The Position

The University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, School of Dental Medicine welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for a full-time, clinical track or tenure track Comprehensive Care Faculty in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. The Department of Restorative Dentistry is home to various disciplines that include Comprehensive Care, Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry and Occlusion. The successful candidate will be an outstanding clinician-educator with interest in, and commitment to clinical care, teaching, and scholarship. The duties for this faculty position include teaching, research, and clinical service duties. Direct mentoring of students is an expectation of this position. The overall distribution of such activities and allocation of responsibilities is determined by the Restorative Department Chair based on specialty, student and clinic needs, amongst other appropriate considerations. Clinical duties may include supervision of undergraduate dental students in our dental clinics and potential consultation with our graduate clinics. Teaching activities may include didactic, pre-clinical teaching as well as clinical supervision. Research, scholarship and educational activities derive from faculty member’s interests related to the field of dentistry. All faculty participate in academic endeavors, including the educational conferences, research and scholarly activities of the section and the department. Attendance at the meetings and educational events of the section and department is expected. Participation in the School of Dental Medicine’s Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care may be required. Requirements

  • A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
  • Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
  • Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications at time of hire.
  • Assistant Professor: At this rank, applicants will usually have some successful teaching experience and will be expected to teach and/or provide clinical care.
  • Associate Professor: At this rank, applicants will have demonstrated considerable evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated leadership and service.
  • Professor: At this rank, applicants will demonstrate outstanding career accomplishments in teaching, and/or providing clinical care, a record of leadership, and a meritorious leadership and service record.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a CODA approved Dental Specialty and/or General Practice Residency
  • Candidates who have a dental specialty should be dental specialty board eligible
  • The preferred candidate will have academic healthcare experience at a dental school and a demonstrated commitment to working in a collaborative and multi-cultural environment; and must be committed to the highest standards of inclusive, ethical and professional conduct.
