About The Position

The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is recruiting for multiple open rank, tenure eligible, interdisciplinary, cross-cutting faculty positions across both research and clinical domains with on focus on innovation, agility, and excellence to improve health and save lives. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, research focus, and alignment with program needs, appointments may be made in either the Department of Clinical Pharmacy or the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, with extensive opportunities for collaboration across the CU Anschutz academic medical and health sciences campus. Candidates with expertise in one or more of the School’s areas of excellence are encouraged to apply: Aging Artificial Intelligence and Systems Pharmacology Drug Development The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collaborative academic community, and bring innovative solutions to solve real world problems through research, education, and unique interdisciplinary approaches which have the greatest impact to translation scientific advances on saving patient lives. As a tenure eligible faculty member, candidates are expected to establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program that contributes to and enhances one or more of the School’s areas of excellence.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a PharmD, PhD, or MD or equivalent degree.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one of the target areas as evidenced by a strong publication record or potential for securing extramural research funding.
  • Meets the School of Pharmacy criteria for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.
  • Meets the School of Pharmacy criteria for appointment at the rank of Professor.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Commitment to and leadership in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Engagement in innovative, evidence‑based approaches to pharmacy education and curriculum development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build consensus and instill shared vision.

  • Experience with large paradigm shifting center grants, or
  • Documented research excellence, reflected in peer‑reviewed publications and contributions to the field.
  • A successful history of securing external research funding from federal agencies, foundations, or industry partners.
  • Experience with educational technologies that support student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cutting‑edge research within the chosen area of expertise to advance pharmaceutical sciences and address critical grand challenges that improve health and save lives.
  • Bridge Interdisciplinary collaborations within departments, School, and which cut across the University of Colorado Anschutz campus to foster interdisciplinary research.
  • Excellence in publication record and externally funded research which can cut across both clinical and research domains and in areas which are of the highest clinical significance and impact.
  • Contribute to graduate and postgraduate education by developing and delivering high‑quality, contemporary coursework.
  • Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff, supporting their academic and professional growth.
  • Participate in departmental, university, and professional service, including committees and scholarly organizations.
