Starting pay: $78,000 annually OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Under direct supervision, provides quality clinical supervision and work direction to direct reports, providing discipline- specific treatment for children with developmental delays, disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Oversees all components of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs of his/her caseload, ensuring high quality and the use of best- practice guidelines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Facilitates behavior programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), conducts behavior assessments and functions as an Assessor when needed. Provides parent education, develops and delivers specific intervention activities, and functions as a liaison between the organization, families, community, therapists, health care providers, etc. Conducts evaluations, case-management reviews, quality assurance reviews, and audits as assigned by Regional Clinical Director. Meets productivity requirements set forth in annual budget. Leads and/or attends staff meetings. Prepares and provides specialized training and instructional materials including staff development training, as assigned by Regional Clinical Director. Ensures associate responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities are clearly defined and understood. Manages and evaluates the performance and productivity of associates in assigned region. Provides training and onboarding for new associates; ongoing training to assigned Program Managers and Behavior Interventionists; and specialized training to associates preparing for various certifications. Works with Regional Clinical Director and Human Resources in the recruitment/selection process of new program associates. Oversees associates involved in the recruitment/selection process as needed. Attends conferences and trainings to remain current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education and related fields. Functions as liaison between the organization, families, and other community agencies including regional centers, school programs, therapists, and health care providers assisting with questions and concerns as they arise. Travels as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, special education, psychology, behavior analysis, or related field required.
  • Typically requires Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification or the completion of BCBA coursework.
  • Must possess current CPR certification.
  • 3 years related professional experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Expertise in approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Behavior Skills Training (BST), and experimental functional analysis (EFA).
  • Expert knowledge of scientifically-validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit individuals with ASD; familiar with current related research findings.
  • Familiar with the field of early intervention; knowledge of other community resources and agencies that serve individuals with ASD.
  • Strong clinical, administrative, and leadership skills, with the ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions, and demonstrate good judgement, decision-making, and communication skills with a variety of individuals and groups, while exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to relate well to children and their families.
  • Maintenance of valid CPR certification, as well as valid CA driver license, safe driving record, and proper auto insurance/vehicle registration
