About The Position

As the Clinical Supervisor, RN/NP/PA-C, you will assist in the daily operations of the occupational health clinic at Bath Iron Works. Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the Clinical Supervisor, RN/NP/PA-C ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a licensed as a registered professional nurse, Nurse Practitioner/PA-C in either family or adult practice required, occupational experience preferred.
  • Previous Managerial experience required.
  • High level of interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively lead and manage team.
  • BLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred.
  • Must be able to maneuver through the Shipyard.
  • Must be able to participate in Sea Trials.
  • 1st shift consisting of (5) days per week (Monday-Friday).

Nice To Haves

  • Combined Specialty certification with clinical supervision experience, highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or master’s degree in nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or PA-C with clinical supervision experience is preferred.
  • Current State of Maine APN/PA-C license (or compact licensure) with clinical supervision experience is preferred.
  • Occupational health experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat and medically manage work-related injuries and illnesses for Bath Iron Works employees.
  • Perform routine medical surveillance, physical examination and case review for a variety of programs, i.e., exposures from asbestos, heavy metals, various environmental toxins, and noise; DOT; Fire Brigade and other programs.
  • Supervision of the Registered Nurses and Clinical Technicians
  • Provide day-to-day clinical guidance to RNs and Clinical Technicians.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately based on skill, scope of practice, and workload.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and coverage; assist with scheduling or shift planning.
  • Monitor patient flow and triage efficiency.
  • Provide real-time feedback and education to clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care is achieved.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentorship for RNs and Techs.
  • Conduct or coordinate training on new procedures, equipment or protocols.
  • Collaborate with on-site medical, nursing and workers' compensation personnel, management and outside providers concerning work-related injury case management, return to work and fitness for duty concerns.
  • Demonstrate a CAN-DO attitude.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
