About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the management and implementation of various program operations and functions that comprise an effective and successful program. The Clinical Supervisor is a key program leader and collaborates closely with the Program Director to ensure the program exceeds contractual commitments set forth by NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS). The Family Treatment Rehabilitation Program (FTR) located in Brooklyn NY, offers intensive preventive services to families at risk of removal of children to foster care due to neglect and abuse. Risk factors for families served by the FTR program include mental health and substance use. Using Solution Based Casework, we actively work with families to develop plans that make them stronger and keep them together and to address the Mental health and substance use issues impacting the family. We encourage families to build connections to positive supports in their community who will help them sustain their progress and can be in place after our services discontinue. Our goal is to partner with families to keep them together while ensuring that children will be safely cared for. We utilize a collaborative team approach to provide services to families and ensure families progress through the three Treatment phases of FTR.

Requirements

  • Minimum Master's degree: license eligible (LMSW, LCAT, LMHC, LMFC) with strong clinical skills and knowledge of mental health diagnosis, and substance abuse issues that impact on caretaker's ability to parent.
  • Strong clinical and administrative skills to oversee 3 Supervisors, 12 case planners, 3 case aides, CASAC, 2 FTC facilitators and a Clinical Coordinator in a child welfare FTR prevention program
  • Previous child welfare experience.
  • Technical capability to navigate the systems used (Connections, PROMIS, CARA, paycom, etc)

Nice To Haves

  • FTR uses a Solution Based Casework Model; previous knowledge is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • The Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical and administrative supervision of case planners (4) and a case aide (1), and Program Interns as needed.
  • This position will support staff in the implementation of case specific goals of families in line with the FTR Treatment phases and align with the agency practice approaches (Solution-Based Casework) to partner with families to help develop and encourage families to build connections to positive supports in their community
  • Serve as a program leader for the advancement of the FTR and SBC models as well as the agency’s mission, vision, and values in partnership with the Program Director.
  • Responsible with program leadership team to uplift and support positive staff morale.
