Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience as determined by the organization
  • Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire OR Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire AND Bachelor's degree or higher in Science or related preferred
  • RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire OR RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates staff scheduling, educational and development activities, and performance evaluations.
  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
  • Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
  • Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow, clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
  • Assesses, evaluates, plans, implements, re-assesses, and re-evaluates the needs of the patient/family.
  • Ensures appropriate care is provided specific to the needs of the patient population.
  • Performs other staff related duties.
  • Provides health educational needs for patients/families.
  • Manages patient care assignment.
  • Provides patient care as needed.
  • May be required to place daily orders for special-order supplies as needed and maintains an adequate inventory.
  • Performs staff level duties as needed and required in assigned area.
  • Supervises the daily activities of technical, operations, business support or team members and is accountable for performance.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates worked activities to optimize productivity.
  • Effectively assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths.
  • Will approve timecards, participate in hiring, training new hires, provide input into corrective action & development plans, assist with process improvement conduct performance reviews, assist with budgeting and operations, etc.
  • Identifies and addresses conflicts within the team, facilitating constructive dialogue, and finding solutions to disagreements.
  • Leads and adapts to organizational changes, communicating effectively during transitions, and engages the team in the process.
  • Actively engages in the Leadership Development Program by enrolling in the program within the first 6 months of employment and completing the program within the first 2 years of employment.
  • Prioritizes the physical and psychological safety of the workforce as a foundational element of high-reliability care. Ensure goals are established with effective monitoring and reporting to improve workforce safety and wellbeing.
  • Promotes safe staffing, supports resilience, and ensures that every team member has the tools, training, and environment needed to perform at their best.
