About The Position

In alignment with Health First commitments of Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship, the HFMG Clinical Supervisor-RN oversees the clinical operations, development and success of the medical practice. This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for a team of medical assistants; LPNS, RNs and providers in the clinic.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree (ASN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid RN license in the State of Florida
  • BLS as issued by the American Heart Association
  • Two (2) years or more experience in a medical office environment and one (1) year previous work experience as a team lead or supervising others.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily and purposeful rounding on clinical associates, ensuring appropriate recognition is applied, problems, barriers and equipment needs are identified and resolved.
  • In collaboration with upper level management, coordinates the interviewing, selection and on-boarding of clinical staff.
  • Manages orientation and training to job duties, customer service standards and general performance expectations for Medical Assistant; LPN, RN and other clinical staff among several offices and clinic sites.
  • Ensures that 90-day/annual competency assessments are conducted and individual development plans are documented as appropriate.
  • Conduct performance planning, monitoring and evaluations on direct reports. Conduct coaching sessions, provides performance feedback and identifies developmental opportunities for clinical staff. Ensures that personnel documentation is accurate, submitted in a timely manner including performance evaluations, competency assessments, certification documentation, and training records.
  • Assigns work schedules, authorizes time off requests. Responsible for time keeping and managing the time and attendance system for assigned associates.
  • Manages pharmaceutical rep visits to the clinic; pharmaceutical samples and log books, including documentation of pharmaceutical samples in and out. Ensures compliance to Stark Law and the Anti- Kickback Statute as it applies to interactions with pharma reps.
  • In the event of having to provide coverage for absent staff, the HFMG Clinical Supervisor-RN will assist the provider in all aspects of consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care of the patient.
  • Take verbal orders from the provider and enter them into the electronic medical record.
  • Enter orders for diagnostic treatments and prescriptions in the electronic medical record and other computer systems to ensure standard documentation and coding as well as calling in medications to area pharmacies when requested by physician.
  • Administer medication and conduct med reconciliation/ inventory, assess patient compliance and provide medication education.
  • Maintains medical supplies/ inventory/disposal in the clinic including rotation of dated medications/supplies.
