About The Position

General Summary Responsible for coordinating adequate, appropriate staffing and scheduling of CNAs, Caregivers, Resident Assistants, Nurses, Home House Cleaners, and others--for various Cantata departments, within the guidelines established and the human resources available. All scheduling services should be provided in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and company standards, guidelines and regulations governing our company. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent attention to details
  • Ability to creatively and professionally solve staffing issues
  • Ability to communicate professionally with many different personalities
  • Ability to work under deadlines and stressful situations.
  • Ability and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment departmentally.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse group of people.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents/patients, family members, as well as company managers and general staff.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Computer literate, preferably Microsoft applications; and expert-level in the use of the electronic scheduling software, within one (1) year of hire.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this company.
  • Sits at a desk and looks at a computer monitor most of the day.
  • May be requested to work over scheduled hours, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferable prior experience with scheduling nursing staff is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties in accordance with the Cantata Promise, treating every person (client, fellow employee-partner, general community member) with respect, integrity, and compassion. Supports the Mission, Values, and Vision of Cantata Adult Life Services
  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining, facilitating changes, and adjusting the schedules to meet the needs of our customers by assigning the appropriate staff.
  • Follows the established specific protocols to fill openings created by last-minute staff call-offs.
  • Participates in the on-call rotation to cover calls during the evening, night, and weekend hours.
  • Tracks needed information and periodically prepares electronic staffing reports to provide information for managers.
  • Participates in projects assigned by the CS Manager.
  • Attends staffing meetings as needed.
  • Has the ability to flex hours as needed.
  • Follows work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
  • Attends in-services, meetings and educational training in accordance with department and Cantata’s policies and procedures.
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner.
  • Performs tasks/duties and utilize forms in accordance with department and Cantata’s policies and procedures
