About The Position

Under direction, responsible for the implementation of the Medicaid Autism Benefit for Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH). Acts as liaison with MCCMH departments and contracted providers to ensure the Medicaid Autism Benefit is delivered in compliance with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) guidelines. Participates in clinical case consults and related committees. Provides oversight for block grant related activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling, or directly related field
  • Two (2) years clinical experience working in a mental health setting
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Limited License Master of Social Work (LLMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC), Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), or Licensed Psychologist (LP)
  • Possession of required state licensure appropriate to position and ability to meet privileging and credentialing guidelines
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
  • Knowledge of: Michigan Mental Health Code, including 1915(i) waiver
  • ASD diagnostic tools including the ADOS-2 and ADI-R
  • Identifying and implementing measures to track outcomes
  • Evidence-based practice of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for the treatment of ASD
  • Integrated treatment planning process
  • Development, implementation and delivery of the Michigan Autism Benefit

Responsibilities

  • Represents MCCMH at related meetings and committees.
  • Works closely with stakeholders including education and human service agencies, families, autism alliances and providers.
  • Ensures Medicaid payment structure and monitors the implementation of covered benefits.
  • Determines if benefits and authorizations for services are available and comply with service design and medical necessity.
  • Responds to clinical and quality issues and ensures that appeal processes are within policy specifications for benefit.
  • Monitors data elements, referral acceptance, determination of care, tracking and coordinating services.
  • Develops and maintains internal direct operated service capacity.
  • Develops community awareness through web-based and print-based notices, provides community and provider forums and other activities as needed.
  • Monitors the reliability ratings of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessors and ensures compliance with established standards for the administration of ASD assessment tools.
  • Assesses the quality of ASD benefit services to identify performance improvement opportunities and work with service providers and support staff to implement resolutions to improve services and consumer outcomes.
  • Tracks utilization and prepares reports regarding the impact and effectiveness of service delivery.
  • Implements and provides oversight of workflow processes that are consistent with agency protocol.
  • Partners with providers and makes recommendations on contract provider service levels.
  • Develops and oversees ongoing training needs to improve quality of services provided.
  • Provides oversight for adult block grant related projects and assures quarterly data and reports are completed timely.
  • Ensures adherence to Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards as well as the standards of funding agencies and licensing bodies.
  • Participates in the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal management reporting systems related to the ASD benefit.
  • Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
