About The Position

The Balderston lab is seeking a clinical research coordinator to work full-time on research studies at the Center for Neuromodulation in Depression and Stress focused on the neuroscience of fear and anxiety. The research coordinator will work closely with the principal investigator as well as other collaborating investigators and CNDS staff in carrying out CNDS research. S/he will be trained to conduct human neuroimaging research with a number of tools, including transcranial magnetic simulation (TMS), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and psychophysiology tools such as electromyography and electrocardiography. S/he will also be trained to administer clinical scales with psychiatric patients.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills and data management skills are beneficial
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Effective problem solving abilities
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Well-suited for work in a fast-paced work environment that requires effective time management and a willingness to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with MRI and/or TMS is desirable
  • Previous experience administering clinical scales is also desirable
  • Some statistical knowledge and experience in data analysis
  • Preferably knows python or a similar language
  • Experience with neuroimaging analysis using AFNI, FSL, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Collecting, maintaining, and organizing all questionnaires, assessments, demographic data, and imaging data of the participants
  • Conduct recruitment
  • Screen and enroll potential study patients as specified per protocol
  • Perform regulatory duties such as preparation and submission of regulatory documents through the IRB (initial submissions, amendments, and continuations)
  • Be interested in and capable of developing skills across a number of research methodologies, neuroimaging software, and data analysis tools
