About The Position

Clinical Nurse Manager Summary: The Nurse Manager promotes and restores patients' health by developing day-to-day management of the patient care area, directing and developing staff. The Manager collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff. The Nurse Manager provides physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families and programs within incumbents responsibility in support of the mission, identifies patient service requirements with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

  • Must have 2 years of true hospital Behavioral Health/Psych experience OR 3+ years related experience
  • Day Shift
  • Must have previous Manager experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintains nursing guidelines by monitoring staff competency, developing on boarding needs for patients served.
  • Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care.
  • Enforces adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations.
  • Measures health outcomes against standards by making or recommending adjustments.
  • Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff.
  • Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff, follows up on work results.
  • Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations, calls for assistance from other health care professionals.
  • Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols, enforces medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Maintains d ocumentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.
  • Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability, completes preventive maintenance requirements, follows manufacturer's instructions, troubleshoots malfunctions and calls for repairs.
  • Approves requisitions and cost allocations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviews professional publications, establishes personal networks, and participates in professional societies.
