As Clinical Manager, you will coordinate department personnel and their activities to assure communication, direction, and achievement of departmental goals and objectives. Provide professional nursing care for Clinic patients following established standards, practices, and protocols. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the nursing field.
  • Experience in electronic medical records.
  • Indiana State Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • CPR certification.
  • TB certification.
  • Prolonged standing and walking, some stooping, bending, and stretching.
  • Requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination sufficient to handle and assist patients.
  • Requires ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Requires exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates work assignments and schedules of the nursing staff to ensure optimum patient flow.
  • Actively participates in patient complaint procedures to resolve operational problems.
  • Ensures compliance with NH policies and procedures, Federal/State regulations (ex: OSHA, HIPAA), and other grant requirements.
  • Ensures an adequate supply inventory is maintained and exam rooms/labs are clean and well stocked.
  • Interviews prospective employees and makes recommendations for hire.
  • Provides all new hires with proper training and orientation to scheduling and the medical front desk.
  • Evaluates staff performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Communicates departmental goals and sets “expectations of performance” for each team member.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and facilitates resolution of any issues which are a barrier to the team achieving its goals.
  • Plays a vital role in the success of NH employee communication by keeping both staff and administration informed of any changes, ideas, concerns, etc.
  • Analyzes the resources (staffing, equipment, technology, etc.) available to the department and when appropriate, recommends changes to improve efficiencies.
  • Prepares staff time cards for payroll processing.
  • Monitors staff attendance, tardiness, and overtime trends.
  • Performs supervisory duties in accordance with the Managers Standards of Conduct and NH Mission Statement.
  • Responsible for leading Clinical staff, which includes communicates, reviews, clarifies performance expectations regularly to staff and provides ongoing feedback, coaching, and counseling on individual and group performance.
  • Involved in the recruitment and retention of staff; participates in interviewing, employment, and onboarding of all new clinical staff.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, oversees nursing operations, quality improvement, patient safety, and patient experience in a fiduciary responsible manner; adheres to the department budget.
  • Manages the OSHA standards, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance; oversees the OSHA recordkeeping ensuring reporting requirements are met.
  • Assuring the smooth flow of medication precertification.
  • In conjunction with leadership, initiates the development of the daily staffing schedule and develops staff assignments to meet the need of the patient census for the following day.
  • Provides an environment which fosters continuous quality improvement while maintaining high standards of patient care, education, integrity, and cost effectiveness.
  • Plans and coordinates clinical services with those of the medical and administrative systems.
  • Responsible for verifying and maintaining clinical staff’s credentials, licenses, certification, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Nursing as a member of the team in planning, policy formulation, and administrative decision making with reference to the role, functions, and operations of the clinical services.
  • Engage other members of leadership team to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure that NH’s strategy and values are supported.
  • Acts as a liaison in the management communication and care coordination with all disciplines, physicians, patients and/or caregivers; supports all measures approved by administration.
  • Responsible for continual improvement in the efficiency and operating effectiveness of clinical staff through the professional and personal growth of employees.
  • Assures that care provided is in accordance with Federal and State guidelines; maintains confidentiality of patient information and employee information.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, assists with complaint resolution, risk management issues, guidance procedures and action plans.
  • High-level contributor to teams, committees, and task forces; demonstrates a collegial and respectful effect in all working relationships; assists in formulation of local strategic goals and objectives.
  • Defines and maintains the standards of clinical practice within NH; promotes professionalism and excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, and NH employees.
  • Encourages and supports research and improvement studies that can make meaningful contributions to the quality and economy of clinical services.
  • Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budgeted process for staff and services rendered; evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of NH.
  • In collaboration with Purchasing, assures adequate inventory of office and medical supplies.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Nursing serves as spokesperson for nursing matters and represents NH with professional nursing and related organizations.
  • Works in collaboration with leadership, colleagues, students, volunteers, and professionals toward quality goals; in addition, works in collaboration with external stakeholders toward community quality goals.
  • Provides appropriate reporting and analysis of information/data related to quality and patient safety, as needed.
  • Assists with organizational change management necessary for quality improvement and patient safety.
  • Assists staff, faculty, and residents with any quality and/or patient safety projects.
  • Create and update procedure manuals.
  • Cross-trained for clinic nursing; provides direct patient care as needed.
  • Demonstrates commitment to lifelong learning.

  • Primary VFC Coordinator; responsible for maintaining compliance with vaccine management and state guidelines to include vaccine ordering, inventory and reconciliation, storage and handling, temperature monitoring, administering and managing an emergency plan, and designating/training backup support.
  • Performs other appropriate duties and activities incidental to the work and responsibilities commensurate with this position as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and in-services as required.
  • Participates in professional development activities.
  • Serves on committees as requested.
  • Perform duties in accordance with NH Standards of Conduct and Mission Statement.
  • Perform related work as required and other duties (similar physical requirements and OSHA risk level) as assigned.
