The Clinical Manager of Nutrition and Patient Services oversees comprehensive nutrition care for inpatients and outpatients while leading a patient ambassador team to ensure exceptional dining quality, service, safety, and satisfaction. This hybrid role combines clinical nutrition expertise with operational leadership to create, implement, and monitor nutritional programs while fostering a team environment that delivers quality service and supports the healing process. Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration
  • Licensed Dietitian as required per state regulations
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or related field
  • 2-4 years of applicable clinical nutrition work experience preferred and/or certification in area of specialty
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
  • Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software
  • Ability to conduct self in a positive, professional manner
  • Adherence to facility policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient/resident rights policies
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Excellent written, spoken, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Service-oriented mentality with a focus on exceeding expectations
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in accordance with facility behavioral expectations

Responsibilities

  • Complete nutritional assessments and follow-ups for patients/residents with increased nutritional needs in accordance with facility policies
  • Document assessment of nutritional goals, interventions, and changes in status in the medical record
  • Manage physician's orders for regular and therapeutic diets and supplements
  • Attend patient/resident rounds on assigned floors and communicate changes in nutritional status to nursing and physicians
  • Review and approve menus, formularies, substitutions, and changes to ensure compliance with therapeutic requirements
  • Create, implement, train, and monitor nutritional programs related to areas of specialty to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain clinical nutrition policies to support regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with department, facility, and company leadership to achieve operational and clinical goals
  • Attend patient rounds on assigned floors
  • Partner with nursing and other facility staff to optimize patient care
  • Monitor inventory and ensure appropriate stock levels for patient care delivery
  • Manage and control resources and materials to ensure the quality and adequacy of supplies
  • Oversee patient menus, tray mats, tents, napkins, satisfaction surveys, and nutritional supplements
  • Develop and monitor evaluation processes for patient satisfaction
  • Coordinate and evaluate patient dining service standards to ensure satisfaction with meals and nourishment
  • Initiate action to correct any problems that arise and ensure processes are followed
  • Implement performance improvement initiatives within trouble areas
  • Implement, manage, and maintain the patient ambassador program for high-quality service delivery
  • Lead and manage team member recruiting, hiring, training, and development for patient ambassador staff
  • Conduct annual staff evaluations according to procedures and within the expected time frame
  • Maintain and enforce disciplinary policy and follow through on procedures
  • Complete work schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all department functions
  • Provide leadership that supports a team environment fostering morale, passion, quality, and respect
  • Perform daily inspections and assessments of dining operations and coach team members
  • Develop training tools for nutrition services staff
  • Provide nutrition education to patients, residents, and their family members on nutritional needs and special diets
  • Educate staff, nursing, dietary employees, and other facility personnel on issues regarding special diets, formulas, and nutritional requirements
  • Participate in patient/resident satisfaction programs related to culinary and nutrition services
  • Take action and provide excellent customer service to correct any issues that occur
  • Implement and maintain ambassador programs to enhance patient experience
