Position Summary: Leads, designs, and implements Clinical Information Systems (CIS) that are vital to the Health System. Has overall change management accountability for large CIS projects acting as a change agent in preparing, supporting, and helping individuals, teams, and the organization implement and adapt to changes across the Health System. Supervises and leads the Clinical Informatics team in all aspects of big IS projects from start to finish including system development, implementation, optimization, upgrades, enhancements, and support. Facilitates the interdepartmental or multi-institutional activities with the objectives of the project life cycle from initiation, planning, execution, and monitoring to closure. May mentor and coach a team of Clinical Informatics Specialists. Acts as a functional leader and informatics specialist. Provides support to users on clinical information solutions and applications. Assesses requests for services in relation to organization and department objectives and provides the appropriate resource allocations. Plans and oversees system implementations, integrity, and monitoring. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems as they occur in Clinical Information Systems. Determines the need for further technical or consultative support, including deciding when to involve other IS staff and/or consultants.
