About The Position

Blue Water Thinking is seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical Informatics Director to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, you will lead the team of clinical informaticists. You will be responsible for analyzing project-related problems and creating innovative solutions using clinical skills, organizational management, health informatics and communication skills. You will provide the highest level of expert consultation for the large-scale implementation of clinical informatics. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Board certification in Clinical Informatics
  • 8 years of experience as a clinical informatics director and/or clinical informatics lead for a healthcare system (government or private industry)
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large or complex projects working with federal agencies or contractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team responsible for all informatics support ensuring the clinical work is high-quality.
  • Effectively lead and develop innovative solutions in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
  • Analyze new and complex project-related problems, creating innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate necessary support resources for the successful completion of projects.
  • Monitor project progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align clinical informatic delivery with mission objectives, compliance, and procurement constraints.
