About The Position

A part of Duke LifePoint Healthcare, Frye Regional Medical Center has served the health and medical needs of the residents of the Catawba Valley region since 1911 with a commitment to delivering high quality and compassionate care with a focus on the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Frye Regional Medical Center includes a 355-bed acute care hospital, home to the Frye Regional Brain Center, Heart Center, Cancer Center, Emergency Services, General and Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Birthing Center and Inpatient Rehabilitation. The Clinical Informatics Analyst serves as a liaison between Information Systems (primarily Cerner) and assigned departments by facilitating effective integration of applications across departments. Additionally, this position works with the leadership team, users, and system vendors to document and resolve issues, coordinate system changes and assist user departments in developing better procedures to complement the applications systems. Reports to: Director of Clinical Informatics FLSA: Exempt

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Required Licenses Other Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience is preferred.
  • Meditech magic experience required.
  • Three years of experience in applying analytical tools to improve processes and resolve problems.
  • Experience with data analysis, data management associated with systems evaluation, clinical research, and analysis tools and methodologies.
  • In depth knowledge of hospital information systems. Able to work on multiple complex tasks simultaneously, develop/executive action plans to address specific issues.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as liaison between Information Systems and assigned departments.
  • Facilitates effective integration of applications across departments.
  • Provides EMR training to all employed and locum Providers.
  • Works with management, users, and system vendors to document and resolve problems, coordinate system changes and assist user departments in developing better procedures to complement the applications systems.
  • Interacts with all levels of the organization to help assure accurate and timely processing of application system functions.
  • With vendor support and user department participation and develops appropriate training materials to assist user departments in maintaining effective operations.
  • Develops skills in the use of report writer programs to develop reports which assist user departments in working with the application systems.
  • Organizes multiple assigned projects concurrently through effective time and resource management.
  • Research and makes recommendations on appropriate projects, situations, and/or problems. Accepts phone and/or email messages offering support to peers as necessary.
  • Be creative, flexible and innovative in organization-wide problem solving; recommend technical solutions to others as applicable. Maintain effective communications with customers, peers and administration.
