The Clinical Informatics Analyst supports the effective use of clinical information systems to improve healthcare delivery, enhance patient outcomes, and streamline provider workflows. The role involves analyzing clinical processes, collaborating with clinical and IT teams, configuring health IT tools (e.g., EHRs), and supporting quality initiatives through data reporting and workflow optimization. This is not a remote position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Clinical Science, Public Health, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, including at least 1 year working with EHR systems or clinical applications preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially between clinical and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Designing and Managing Clinical Information Systems: This includes customizing, developing, and managing healthcare application systems and order-entry systems.
• Improving Clinical Processes: Analyze, evaluate, and refine clinical workflows in conjunction with operational partners enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Developing and Implementing Clinical Decision Support Systems: Clinical informaticists lead or participate in the creation and implementation of tools that help healthcare professionals make better decisions.
• Assessing Information and Knowledge Needs: They work to understand the information and knowledge requirements of both healthcare professionals and patients.
• Analyzing and Interpreting Health Data: A core function involves extracting, analyzing, and interpreting health data to identify trends, improve care, and ensure patient safety.
• Training Staff: They train healthcare personnel on the effective and secure use of information systems and new technologies.
• Troubleshooting and Support: They address software and hardware issues to ensure smooth operation of clinical systems.
• Communicating Findings and Recommendations: Clinical informaticists translate complex data findings and technical information for various stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and patients.
• Staying Current: They stay informed about advancements in technology and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance and optimal system performance.
