About The Position

The Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center (CMR) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical School is accepting applications for a 1 to 2-year postdoctoral clinical- translational imaging research fellowship. The candidate will engage in cardiovascular image vision research working with our clinical and technical team at BIDMC/ Harvard Medical School. This role includes leading research projects developing and applying novel imaging methods for non-invasive disease detection. The individual must have a background in biomedical engineering, engineering, computer science, or data science and prior experience in medical image analysis, with the ability to translate quantitative image analysis to real-world cardiovascular disease applications. Must have outstanding academic record, problem solving and organizational skills, and work well both independently and in a team with others. Proficiency in computer programming languages including Python required; prior experience with statistical languages and Matlab also preferred. Candidates are expected to have a doctorate (Ph.D, Sc.D., M.D., D.O., MBBS, or equivalent medical degree), and outstanding analytical, writing, and communication skills. In addition to leading and collaborating on original research, the individual will have the opportunity to present and participate in weekly educational conferences throughout the division as well as receive additional training and faculty mentorship to advance their academic development. Established in 1995 as the second such center in the United States, the CMR Center is dedicated to the development and clinical applications of CMR imaging to the cardiovascular system and is a busy tertiary care referral center. Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree or M.D.
  • 0-1 year of postdoctoral research experience in academic or industrial lab setting, and/or teaching assistantship in a university setting, and/or residency, and/or clinical duties beyond that of the qualifying doctoral degree.
  • Proficiency in computer programming languages including Python required
