About The Position

The primary task of the New Vitae Clinical Director is to insure the proper behavioral health well-being of New Vitae’s residents and clients.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate Degree or higher.
  • Behavioral health license and/or addiction Certification preferred.
  • Experience: Ten plus (10+) years or more of Behavioral Health Clinical Experience.
  • Able to sit, stand and walk for periods of time
  • Able to hear ordinary conversation and phone communications
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to operate common office equipment, including a computer
  • Slight risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens

Nice To Haves

  • Behavioral health license and/or addiction Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Integrated, Seamless and Effective Clinical Care: enhance staff collaboration and team work between residential, clinical and medical domains, fostering a sense by the residents that all staff are working towards a singular purpose on their behalf.
  • Admissions: Assisting & assuring the proper coordination and care of new residential admissions which includes pre-admissions, admissions, family communications, and early stabilization. This includes partnering with the business office to assure proper financial
  • Clinical Supervision: Providing residential staff of all shifts with clinical guidance and hands-on direction.
  • Clinical Rounds: Lead daily clinical rounds and work with staff to stabilize those identified residents who may be struggling.
  • Development/Marketing: Work closely with Development in marketing, promoting and communicating the vision of New Vitae to prospective residents, families and referrals.
  • Leadership Team: Be a part of the New Vitae leadership team and its corresponding expectations.
  • Reduce Unnecessary Behavioral Health Hospitalizations: empower staff to utilize prevention/ intervention strategies that 1) promotes safety and 2) de-escalates crisis situations.
  • Completes all mandatory training sessions at orientation and annually thereafter. In addition, attends an additional 10 hours of training annually.
  • Attends monthly staff meeting and all other meetings, as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information related to the individuals served.
  • Interacts in a respectful manner with individuals served, coworkers and visitors.
  • Abides by all New Vitae Policies and Procedures
  • Abides by, supports and models the New Vitae Wellness and Recovery Platform Statements (Mission, Vision, Core Values, Ethical Standards, Service Model, and Leadership Commitments)
  • Abides by employee health and safety policies
  • Strong understanding of the vision and direction of New Vitae Inc.
  • Strong understanding of the communication channels and roles of New Vitae—being aware of who needs to know what information.
  • Strong understanding of rules and regulations as it relates to Personal Care Homes, Involuntary Commitments and Patient Rights.
  • Clinical Capacity to work with residents who may have complex clinical needs that include psychological, addiction and/or medical needs.
  • Capacity to work with staff in a team, goal-oriented fashion.
  • Being able to manage conflict in a healthy and productive way.
  • Capacity to devise and articulate different clinical strategies/interventions in a way that produces positive outcomes.
  • Capacity to speak to a varied array of audiences: clinical teams, front-line staff, management staff, training attendees, and/or groups associated with marketing events.
