About The Position

The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall clinical and operational leadership of The Haven. This role ensures high-quality clinical programming, effective staff supervision, and full compliance with Montana licensing requirements and ASAM standards. The position blends clinical expertise with hands-on leadership to maintain a safe, ethical, and therapeutic treatment environment. This position plays a key leadership role in shaping clinical quality, regulatory integrity, and long-term program development.

Requirements

  • Current Montana licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LAC (required); dual licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive clinical and supervisory experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health treatment settings
  • Strong working knowledge of ASAM Criteria, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations with sound clinical judgment and professionalism.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, accountability, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily clinical leadership and oversight to counselors, case managers, peer support specialists, and rehabilitation aides.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical and support staff.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Oversee resident programming schedules and staff coverage to support continuity of care.
  • Participate in utilization review activities, including pre-authorizations and continued stay reviews.
  • Facilitate weekly clinical and staff meetings to promote consistency, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented program culture.
  • Provide clinical support to residents as needed, including crisis intervention, brief therapy, and consultation.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with licensing, accreditation, safety, and facility standards.
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, and early exits in collaboration with the Chief Clinical Director and Admissions team.
  • Model ethical practice, professional boundaries, and recovery-focused leadership.
