Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification from accredited institution/agency required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a physician practice setting / healthcare industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy Certification Preferred.
  • Technical or Associate Degree is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates patient flow in the office.
  • Works directly with physician during office hours.
  • Ensures continuity of clinical support for all services related to patient care through coordination with physician office staff.
  • Triages patient calls. Works with physician to ensure proper handling of all calls.
  • Prepares room and assist doctor in office procedures.
  • Prepares all surgical packets for patient. Give instructions and preparation directions as needed.
  • Takes after hours call and contacts physician for proper handling of all calls.
  • Regularly monitors office for JCAHO Compliance including reviews of sample drug logs, sharps and completeness of patient records including Ambulatory Summary Records.
  • Ensures that all post op patients are seen in a timely manner.
  • Resolves problems and concerns of all clients with confidence and control in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring that par levels of office and medical supplies are kept.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting pharmacy check list to Pharmacy Administration on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting Audit Tracer to Physician Administration on a monthly basis.
  • Assists staff members with job duties as needed.
  • Performs other departmental specific job responsibilities as needed.
