About The Position

Summary: Lead and direct day to day workflow and staffing assignments. Responsible for coaching, counseling and mentoring staff. Responsible for keeping up and document staff time and attendance Responsible of schedule balancing and edits related to payroll Participates in the interview and selection process for new hires and transfers. Coordinates new employee department orientation. Performs clinical assessments and competencies. Utilizes clinical practice expertise to serve as a role model for collaborative practice model Completes and delivers probationary and annual performance evaluations. Communicate timely and effectively to providers and staff to ensure coordination of care is timely and complete. Assist to coordinate and facilitate integrated care delivery. Address customer service concerns and engage in problem solving to achieve desired outcomes. Communicate with the Director and nursing leadership relative to escalated employee relation and patient care concerns. Identifies service and operational problems and issues. Provides project management support to identify, research, develop and implement solutions. Compile reports as directed. Maintain confidentiality of all reports and patient information. Consult supervisor, co-workers or appropriate resources to solve health information questions. Make sound decisions on best use of resources in support of medical center priorities and strategies. Support the successful operational implementation and use of technology and New Products. Rounding with staff and patient on Labor and Delivery, MBUC, NICU units every shift Performs various other office tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a RN Training Program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Five (5) years of experience in area of specialty (Labor & Delivery/Women’s Services)
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Basic EKG certified.
  • Advance NRP
  • MFTI (within 30 days of employment
  • NIHSS Certified (within 30 days of hire).
  • Current RN license.
  • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
  • ARC Card (within 30 days of employment)
  • Advance Certification Specialty RNC-OB (Inpatient Obstetric) from NCC (National Certification Corporation) (within 90 days of employment)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum three years progressive management experience in the field of expertise preferred.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in an acute care setting preferred.
