The Clinical Consultant provides advanced clinical expertise to support children and youth with complex behavioral and developmental health needs. This role partners with families, care coordinators, and community and state stakeholders to guide high-acuity cases using trauma-informed, strength-based, and culturally responsive approaches. The Clinical Consultant plays a key role in care planning, crisis response, and service coordination, ensuring alignment with OhioRISE requirements and evidence-based clinical practices. This role requires strong relationship‑building skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to collaborate across systems.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
  • Active Ohio licensure as an LISW or LPCC.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mental or behavioral health services, including leadership or clinical consultation for complex cases.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health, substance use disorders, and recovery-oriented care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records, billing systems, and standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Strong analytical, clinical judgment, and independent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to obtain CPI and CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with individuals experiencing significant behavioral health challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the clinical expert for Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, providing guidance for high-acuity cases.
  • Provide clinical consultation to support trauma-informed, strengths-based, and family-centered care planning.
  • Review and guide care plans, crisis plans, and safety planning for complex cases.
  • Support clinical decision-making related to behavioral health crises and risk management.
  • Collaborate with OhioRISE staff and community partners to ensure coordinated, continuous care.
  • Ensure clinical recommendations align with OhioRISE standards, Medicaid requirements, and evidence-based practices.
