About The Position

This position is for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Nutrition at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The primary responsibility is to provide clinical care within a Pediatric Nutrition/Lifestyle Medicine clinical program at Children's Hospital Colorado. The Section of Nutrition is recognized as a national leader in Pediatric Nutrition research, training, and clinical programs. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a world-class medical destination, known for its advancements in science, medicine, education, and patient care, housing health professional schools, numerous centers and institutes, and two nationally ranked hospitals. The role also encompasses academic, educational, administrative, research, and scholarship duties.

Requirements

• MD/DO (or equivalent)
• Board Certification or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• Must be licensed or able to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado by appointment start date
• Minimum of 2 years' prior experience in pediatric medical nutrition care
• Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Nice To Haves

• Fellowship trained or Certified in Obesity Medicine
• Experience within an interdisciplinary team
• Prior experience with electronic medical record systems including Epic
• Experience with providing outpatient care in the Adult Medicine clinic.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate and treat pediatric patients within the Lifestyle Medicine program, and in Nutrition/GAP clinic if desired and/or needed
• Ordering of labs, x-rays and other relevant tests.
• Using results to make an informed decision on treatment plan.
• Provide ongoing treatment for families, including working with multidisciplinary team to provide care.
• Care coordination with Primary Care providers, as well as with multidisciplinary team members (dietitians, psychologist, medical providers)
• Complete charting in timely manner, according to standards established for Children's Hospital Colorado Policy.
• Contribute to development of new clinical programs involving the Section of Nutrition
• Phone follow up with patients and other care providers, regarding results, treatment plan, etc.
• Providing service at Children's Hospital Colorado Main Campus and Network of Care facilities across the metro area, and if desired at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center
• Provide support to the leadership team with operations/programming
• Initiate and support quality improvement projects/processes
• Provide pediatric nutrition related talks to Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine, and other entities on AMC (both undergraduate and graduate students), community, physicians, and/or specialty clinics as requested
• Participate in and support the broad goals of the research agenda of the Section of Nutrition
