About The Position

The Clinical Application Training Specialist supports the organization’s dedication to patient and family centered care by providing efficient education of the electronic heath record (EHR). The successful candidate should have a strong knowledge of Hospital and Clinic workflows and adult education theory. This is a dynamic role which will require strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with operational and informational technology stakeholders in a variety of disciplines. The Core Concepts of Patient-and Family-Centered Care consist of Dignity & Respect, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration. This positions interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed. Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Education Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare or related field plus three (3) years of related experience OR an Associate's Degree plus five (5) years of related experience
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and interdependently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Must be able to communicate effectively and interact with internal and external contacts, agencies and organizations
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead or present program meetings workshops, training or presentations
  • Ability to work in a project team environment
  • Provides Professionalism with patients and staff to encourage and promote a positive work culture
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to stand, sit and work at a computer for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. (11.34 kg)

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree in Education Technology, health-related or similar.
  • BSN with Clinical Licensure.
  • Two (2) years of experience as an educator in an academic medical center and/or academic setting with demonstrated leadership in assessing educational outcomes and utilizing technological resources to improve learning efficiency or 2 years of experience in a clinical practice; understanding of clinical workflows; clinical, access, or revenue cycle experience and how they are documented in Epic.
  • Experience in Training Tracker, SAP, and Adobe Creative Cloud products

Responsibilities

  • Creates computer systems training for adult learners in an academic healthcare environment.
  • Leads training sessions for super users and end users.
  • Researches end user issues and proposes solutions.
  • Supports all elements of training planning, design, development and implementation for designated applications.
  • Develops workflow based curriculum.
  • Maintains training records, assesses training methods, and creates live and asynchronous training materials.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to deliver educational initiatives to support Electronic Health Record functionality.
  • Builds and maintains the training environment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
