The CCBHC Clinical Training Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing clinical training and professional development initiatives across all CCBHC programs. This role ensures staff are trained in evidence-based practices, integrated mental health and substance use treatment, trauma-informed care, and documentation standards, while supporting compliance with CCBHC requirements and CARF standards. The CCBHC Clinical Training Specialist promotes a recovery-oriented culture by ensuring staff training reflects person-centered care, strengths-based engagement, cultural humility, and best practices in integrated substance use and mental health treatment. This role also supports workforce development through onboarding, continuing education, and community-facing education initiatives.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Staff: LMSW, LCSW, LMHP, LMFT, LAC
  • Clinically Licensed (LMSW, LCSW or PsyD, or PhD required) with five years of experience in Behavioral Health.
  • Experience in writing and creating training curriculum
  • Strong understanding of CCBHC model requirements and integrated service delivery
  • Ability to train, coach, and support adult learners in a clinical setting
  • Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and integrated mental health/substance use treatment
  • Demonstrated ability to implement trauma-informed programming and organizational culture change
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while also functioning independently
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to learn and train within electronic health record systems

Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all CCBHC integrated services, including the nine required CCBHC core services.
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate a CCBHC wide training plan that supports clinical excellence, workforce competency, and program fidelity.
  • Develop and lead a standardized onboarding training program for all CCBHC staff, including training in clinical interventions, MyEvolv documentation, trauma-informed care, integrated mental health and substance use treatment, and coordination of physical health care services.
  • Create and expand a Professional Development Program that includes onboarding, ongoing skill-based workshops, Lunch-and-Learn opportunities, and annual required trainings.
  • Provide training and consultation to ensure staff maintain competence in clinical best practices, engagement strategies, and ethical decision-making.
  • Promote recovery-oriented, person-centered care across all CCBHC training initiatives, including an emphasis on hope, autonomy, client voice, and strengths-based treatment planning.
  • Support staff competency in integrated mental health and substance use treatment, including recovery support services, relapse/return-to-use responsive care, and stigma-reducing engagement approaches.
  • Implement and support a trauma-informed care framework across all CCBHC clinics, ensuring consistent application in clinical practice and organizational culture.
  • Promote culturally responsive care that addresses the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), social determinants of health, and health disparities.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices and clinical interventions and provide staff training in relevant models and tools, which may include: Trauma-Informed Care AMSR Motivational Interviewing DBT, CBT, and CPT Screening and assessment tools Medication management coordination workflows Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify clinical training gaps and develop targeted training strategies to address areas of need.
  • Ensure training programs align with regulatory and accreditation standards, including CARF requirements and CCBHC documentation expectations.
  • Support agency compliance related to continuing education requirements, CE’s documentation, and training certification standards.
  • Maintain training records and ensure staff completion of required trainings in accordance with agency policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide support and consultation related to EHR documentation standards and workflow compliance within MyEvolv.
  • Support the agency A:CE initiatives, providing workshops and trainings to community partners, including school systems and other organizations, to enhance awareness and improve access to behavioral health education.
  • Expand agency training offerings to include CE’s-granting trainings for external behavioral health providers, supporting professional collaboration and community impact.
