Employees are required to have flexibility to work rotating schedule of: Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday – 3:00pm – 11:30pm CST Week 2: Monday, Thursday, & Friday – 3:00pm – 11:30pm CST It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer 3 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours during training will be aligned with your schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years experience in health information management (HIM) OR 1+ years of experience working in customer service within healthcare or insurance industries.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to work rotating shift hours of: Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday – 3:00pm – 11:30pm CST; Week 2: Monday, Thursday, & Friday – 3:00pm – 11:30pm CST from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
  • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of healthcare customer service experience
  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and maintains health information records.
  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests.
  • Manages requests for documentation and information.
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • Distributes reports and results.
  • May train and mentor co-workers.
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Other duties as assigned.
