About The Position

The Family Health Clinic Manager works as a part of the team; assures well-being of patients and staff and the productivity and integrity of the clinic; and is responsible for providing management of front and back office staff, scheduling, outreach, oversight, referrals and education. Supervise office staff. Following is a general listing of the job duties inherent in this position. The employee will also perform other tasks and special projects as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • AA Degree or certification in related field.
  • AA degree plus related experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum seven years' healthcare management-related experience, including 4 years supervising. Years of related experience may be substituted for education.
  • ____Valid California driver license with good driving record acceptable to BHS' insurance carrier for driving company vehicles. Liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business.
  • ________Obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of employment and maintain current thereafter.
  • Well-organized person with basic clerical and good alphanumeric filing skills. Data entry and word processing experience adequate to perform job duties.
  • Able to stand, bend, stoop, squat and reach for purpose of performing duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing and handling and sorting mail. Routinely lift and move items weighing up to twenty-five pounds; is expected to ask for assistance and use dolly or cart and any heavy items. Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination adequate for recordkeeping, writing, and using telephones, computers, and office machinery. Able to move about the facility and other off-site locations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for clinic management and daily operations including productivity goals, efficiency of clinic operations and institutes new process and systems as necessary.
  • Develop and implement of clinic Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of all facets of the clinic's Electronic Health Record.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, evaluation, coaching and termination of clinic staff.
  • Responsible for staff development, orientation of new employees, in -service training and education to enhance staff skills as needed or assigned.
  • Manage and directly supervise front and back office staff and when necessary resolve clinic related issues while maintaining organizational objectives and vision.
  • Ensure trained staff assigned to clinic hours regarding opening, facility appearance inside and outside, closing and security of premises.
  • Supervise provider schedule/availability and overall direction of staff and providers, assignment of jobs, duties, special assignments as needed in collaboration with the Clinic Director and the Chief Medical Officer to enhance provider efficiency and customer service standards.
  • Assume duties as needed of front office staff for breaks, lunch's, sick, vacation or as needed to ensure patient flow and quality of services.
  • Provide outreach to enhance clinic visibility through community involvement, participation in events/fairs, collaboration with groups/organizations and public relations.
  • Represent BHS at community meetings, advocacy efforts and other functions.
  • Evaluate services/program and provide input for improvement.
  • Prepare reports as needed for BHS and funding agencies.
  • Perform reconciliation of monies collected, deposits and record keeping as directed.
  • Collect and sign off on timecards/sheets, work schedules, vacations, holidays, and any approved overtime.
  • Maintain and order office supplies, medical supplies and other clinic materials as needed from approved vendors.
  • Arrange laboratory specimen pick up, bio waste pick up and disposal and any other deliveries as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and ongoing communication with case managers and community partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clinic patients.
  • Uphold and maintain all regulations as required by contractual and licensing agencies.
  • Show good understanding of computer operations required for this position. Adapt to changes as required.
  • Represent BHS well at all times.
