About The Position

The Clinic Director is responsible for leading and supporting multiple professional teams—including Clinic Services, Retina, Patient Services, and Surgery Scheduling—to ensure the delivery of exceptional eye care. This role oversees day‑to-day clinical operations, manages and develops staff, coordinates care with providers, and implements processes that promote efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction. The Clinic Director plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence while upholding the highest standards of clinical care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management or a related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting
  • Extensive experience in clinic management or healthcare leadership role
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of clinical best practices, standards and regulatory requirements
  • Thorough understanding of clinical operations and patient care protocols
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and driving organizational performance
  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems and technology
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical services, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
  • Supervise, coach, and support clinical staff, including managers, and support staff.
  • Foster staff development by assessing skill levels, identifying training needs, and providing appropriate learning resources.
  • Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and maintain cost‑efficient operations.
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to guide decision‑making and enhance the patient experience.
  • Review provider schedules with the Practice Manager to ensure accurate and efficient appointment scheduling.
  • Serve as backup for adding or blocking provider schedule changes (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Partner with all departments to ensure coordinated clinical services and lead ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning to support the Clinic’s growth, performance, and long‑term success.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures that promote high‑quality eye care.
  • Stay informed on advancements in ophthalmology and support the integration of new techniques, technologies, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
