About The Position

The Clinic Director is responsible for the overall daily operations of the health center site, ensuring seamless coordination of medical, dental, behavioral health, and support services. This role provides leadership and direct supervision to frontline staff, oversees scheduling and provider workflows, and ensures that patient care is delivered efficiently, compassionately, and in alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and mission. The Clinic Director serves as the primary operational leader at the clinic level, balancing patient access, staff satisfaction, compliance requirements, and performance outcomes. This position requires a collaborative leaders who can navigate complex, multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining a patient-centered focus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certification

Responsibilities

  • Directs the daily operations of the clinic, including both medical and dental services.
  • Oversees patient flow, ensuring timely access and coordination of care across disciplines.
  • Ensure provider schedules are accurately maintained, blocked appropriately, and optimized for patient access and provider productivity.
  • Serves as the on-sites decision-maker for operational issues, escalating to the COO as appropriate.
  • Provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to Patient Services Representatives, nursing staff, Dental Assistants, and Community Health Workers.
  • Fosters a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, gather feedback, and reinforce organizational values.
  • Coordinates staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and efficient patient flow.
  • Promotes a positive, welcoming and culturally sensitive patient experience.
  • Ensures staff adhere to customer service standards, confidentiality requirements, and professional conduct.
  • Parenters with clinical leadership to monitor quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and care outcomes.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implements corrective actions.
  • Ensure clinic operations meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements as well as FQHC/HRSA/NCQA standards.
  • Maintains oversight of safety protocols, infection control, and OSHA/CLIA requirements.
  • Monitors adherence to organizational policies and procedures, recommending updates as needed.
  • Assist with site budget development and monitor expenses against budget targets.
  • Managers supply and equipment requests to maintain operational readiness and fiscal responsibility.
  • Works with billing/revenue cycle staff to support accurate documentation and charge capture.
  • Serves as the operational liaison between frontline staff, providers, and leadership.
  • Collaborates with program directors, medical/dental leadership, and administrative teams to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Communicates regularly with the COO regarding operations performance, staffing concerns, and resource need.
