About The Position

Established in 1998 with 97 students, CCCS has steadily increased to more than 4,000 students in grades K-8 across 12 state-of-the-art buildings on four campuses. The school is a true community success story that has transformed the lives of thousands of students and their families, while breathing life back into a city that was once one of Philadelphia’s most vibrant manufacturing suburbs. The Activities Coordinator will play a critical role in improving school climate by ensuring the school creates and maintains a positive learning environment and a culture of high expectations. The Coordinator will support the implementation of PBIS to reinforce positive behaviors, celebrate student success, and foster a safe, respectful, and responsible school community. The Activities Coordinator will also work with staff to model expectations during recess, lead the way for impact through structured play, and support all staff and students during these times. In addition, the Coordinator will help design, teach, and facilitate music and art programs that provide students with creative outlets for self-expression, build confidence, and strengthen school culture. The Coordinator will collaborate with staff and community partners to ensure these programs and activities are engaging, inclusive, and aligned to the school’s mission.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds, levels of education, economic resources, and experience
  • Experience working with the PBIS framework
  • Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check Clearance
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Criminal Background Clearance
  • Physical (within past year)
  • TB Test (within past 3 months. Unless a chest X-ray is completed in which case it can be within the past 5 years)
  • Arrest or Conviction form
  • Act 168 form
  • Mandated Reporter (act 126) Certificate (within the past 1 year)

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive school climate by promoting a culture of high expectations, respect, and inclusivity.
  • Support the implementation of PBIS to reinforce positive behaviors, track progress, and celebrate student success.
  • Delivers pre-developed PBIS lessons.
  • Delivers SEL lessons through Move this World platform.
  • Supports academic reinforcement through facilitating activities such as Math Games, Read-Alouds, Spelling/Phonics Games.
  • Facilitates Creative & Arts-Based Activities such as art projects, crafts and design challenges.
  • Facilitates Classroom-Friendly Games & Movement activities.
  • Facilitates community building activities such as Morning Meeting/Circle Time,check-ins, gratitude sharing, or team-building games.
  • Facilitates Performing Arts & Expression activities such as Reader’s Theater, Poetry Reading and/or Talent Share.
  • Collaborate with staff to model and uphold behavioral expectations during recess and structured play.
  • Lead and facilitate safe, engaging, and inclusive recess activities that encourage student participation and positive peer interactions.
  • Design, teach, and facilitate music and art programs that promote creativity, self-expression, and confidence among students.
  • Partner with teachers and staff to integrate creative and recreational activities into the overall school culture.
  • Collaborate with community partners, musicians, and artists to expand enrichment opportunities for students.
  • Ensure all activities and programs are accessible, inclusive, and aligned to the school’s mission and values.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement, belonging, and leadership development.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust activities and programs to best support student growth and school climate goals.
