About The Position

At SPL , we turn science into impact. We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Client Services Specialist II to join our Client Services team in Reading, PA. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, helping ensure projects are set up accurately, communications are clear, and deliverables are completed on time and in compliance with regulatory and quality requirements. We’re searching for an enthusiastic Client Services Specialist II to join our environmental laboratory team in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll support client-facing and administrative functions that ensure accurate, timely, and professional service delivery. From maintaining client accounts and project information in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to coordinating project workflows, preparing documentation, and supporting reporting and billing activities, your work helps ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a positive client experience across the laboratory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service or administrative support roles, preferably in a laboratory, technical, or professional services setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Basic familiarity with scientific, laboratory, or environmental concepts is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain client accounts and project information in LIMS and related systems
  • Prepare quotations and pricing requests for existing clients
  • Coordinate new client accounts and projects with laboratory, field, and sample receiving teams
  • Review work orders to ensure accurate setup and billing in LIMS
  • Respond to client inquiries, service requests, and data questions professionally and promptly
  • Communicate updates and resolve issues between clients and internal teams
  • Upload subcontract laboratory results into LIMS and assist with subcontract coordination
  • Maintain familiarity with laboratory services, regulatory requirements, and client expectations
  • Answer phones, assist walk-in clients, accept samples, and support sample login as needed
  • Provide backup support during staff absences or high-volume periods
  • Assist with bottle preparation and sample-handling tasks when needed
  • Ensure client regulatory requirements and documentation standards are met
  • Deliver reports, invoices, and data files within required turnaround times
  • Notify clients promptly of results exceeding regulatory limits in accordance with company procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
