About The Position
Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. Loyola Medicine Transport is based at Loyola University Medical Center and is part of a three-hospital system including Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital. What you’ll do: Greets patients and family members in a consistent and friendly manner, obtains, and verifies demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information during the (pre)-registration process, accepts point of service payments or provides guidance for payment options, and clears the patient for service delivery.
Requirements
- High School Diploma; associate degree preferred
- Basic Keyboarding Skills
- Epic Scheduling
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Word
Responsibilities
- verifies and updates patient identification, demographic information, and insurance coverage
- accepts point of service payments
- balances cash drawer at the end of every shift
- enters patient information accurately into appropriate hospital information system(s)
- refers patients with questions regarding financial liability to appropriate resource(s)
- accepts medical authorization or referral forms, if appropriate scans clinical information, Missed Appointment Policy, and other documents into Epic as appropriate
- initiates Enrollment process for myLoyola
- identifies systemic issues and escalates to Lead Service Representative for resolution
