Cleared Software Engineer
About The Position
Cleared Junior DevOps/ Software Engineer Join Bestgate Engineering, where innovation meets mission-critical solutions. At Bestgate, we deliver cutting-edge technical expertise and foster collaboration to support national security and enterprise systems. We are seeking a Software Engineer to support a fast paced team developing, deploying, and maintaining web-based analysis tools within a cloud-based DevOps environment. This role focuses on supporting containerized applications, automation, and software deployments across modern technology stacks to ensure scalable, reliable system performance. The team builds and deploys applications including containerized React user interfaces, Java and Go microservices, custom REST security services, and data stores such as MongoDB and OpenSearch. The platform provides real-time alerting, historical querying, and document storage and retrieval capabilities.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS tools such as CloudFormation, EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, and DynamoDB
- Experience with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and Docker
- Experience with Git, GitLab, GitLab Runners, and Linux command line tools
- Familiarity with ArgoCD
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across technical teams
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field OR five (5) years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Responsibilities
- Supporting deployment and sustainment of software on existing systems
- Assisting with migration of software deployments to new cloud environments
- Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software deployments, including CI/CD processes
- Identifying areas for improvement in existing systems and developing enhancements within the contract scope
- Collaborating with developers, platform maintainers, and systems analysts
- Supporting automation and deployment workflows within a DevOps environment
- Reporting to the Senior DevOps Lead for tasking and technical direction
